The Makers’ Nest

Indoor market with colorful flowers and handmade goods for a charity event.

The Makers’ Nest Story

In May 2026, Mary and Lou visited the historic Ellesmere Market in Shropshire and were immediately captivated by its charm and character.  This magnificent Victorian building, constructed in 1879 and operating under a market charter granted as far back as 1221, is filled with natural light and rich local history.  Inspired by the unique atmosphere of the hall, the idea for The Makers’ Nest was born.

Today, The Makers’ Nest can be found in Ellesmere Market Hall every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, showcasing and selling beautiful artisan glass creations.  Alongside their handcrafted pieces, Mary and Lou also offer regular glass making workshops, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the beauty, creativity and excitement of working with glass firsthand.

Whether you’re searching for a unique handmade gift, a stunning piece of glass art, or the chance to discover a new skill, The Makers’ Nest offers a warm welcome and an unforgettable creative experience

Stained glass making. Stained glass. Glass workshops.
